Obituary of Pierre Victor Charbonneau
Pierre (Pete) Victor Charbonneau began his life in the beautiful town of Gardner, Massachusetts on September 16, 1942. Raised with loving care by Leo and Helen Charbonneau, his family moved to Venice, California where he attended St. Mark for grammar school and St. Monica Catholic High School making life long friends. Graduating in 1960, Pete held several class offices while in school. During his time in the Air Force, as a Vietnamese linguist, Pete made many friends who he later reunited with and has since made wonderful memories. After leaving the military, Pete and his dear friend, Ron Farnham, traveled through South America and Europe on an adventure of a life time. Pete later met the love of his life, Johanna “Brown Eyes Pallucci”, while living in an apartment in The Valley. Traveling through Europe for their honeymoon, Pete and Johanna enjoyed their time as newlyweds. Upon their return, they spent a memorable year together in Glendale, Arizona where he earned his Master’s Degree from American Graduate School of International Management, aka Thunderbird. Pete always had an affinity for maps and language. His under graduate degree in history led him to have an interest in studying the lives of many presidents. Through hard work and determination, Pete started his own translation company, Continental Communications Agency, the same year they had their daughter, Jennifer. In 1982 the family moved to Simi Valley where they had 35 wonderful years spending time with good friends on their block and enjoying many activities with their daughter and son-in-law, Robert. Pete was an avid reader and a fantastic cook who enjoyed watching sports (“Go Lakers”), spending time alone on the open road, and traveling with his friends and family.
Pete was a proud uncle to Tina, Mitch, Cassie, Simone, Angela, Nyckolle, Jesse, Michele, Paula, Monique, Julia, and Steve. He was also a devoted brother to Bob and Leonne. Pete will also be missed by many relatives from Johanna’s family who he loved dearly.
Pete passed away on December 6, 2017 at Los Robles Hospital at the age of 75. He will be buried at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura, California with his family.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Rose Family Funeral Home for helping us through this difficult time.
