Obituary of Norma Alicia Alvarez

Norma Alicia Alvarez of Simi Valley, CA, passed away on November 19, 2017.

She was born to Roberto Chan and Petra Ramirez on June 23, 1944. Norma is survived by her husband Gilbert of 53 years, her daughter Diana, and her granddaughters Marissa and Danica. Her two greatest joys knew her as “Nana.”

Norma, or “Grandma Norma” as she was known throughout Simi Valley, volunteered at Vista Fundamental Elementary School for the last 13 years. She loved the staff, parents, and especially the students. The kids were the bright spot of her day.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017.

At 9:00AM coffee and donut holes (Grandma Norma’s favorite sweet to gift the school kids) will be served.

At 10:00AM the memorial service will commence and last for about an hour.

The weekly crochet support group meetings and the monthly dinners provided by the Marcelle Erian Cancer Foundation lifted Norma’s spirits this past year.
