Obituary of Lois Ruth Kline
Please share a memory of Lois to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lois passed away peacefully in Simi Valley, CA on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, surrounded by her family members. She was 96 years old.
Lois was born on February 10, 1921, in Columbus, OH to the parents of Edward and Ruth Liljeblad. She had a brother, Edward and a sister, Edna and they grew up in Indianapolis, IN. After she graduated from high school, she took a job with a bank, where she met her future husband. She married Delbert (Del) W. Kline on June 14, 1942, and a year later they moved to Southern California. Lois was a homemaker and she and Del raised two daugthers in the San Fernando Valley. She and Del were active in Jr. Chambers and Kiwanis Club. When the girls were growing up, Lois was involved in PTA, taught Sunday School, and was an active council member for Job's Daughters. When the girls were older she worked in a stationary store.
Lois spent her leisure time playing cards, Rummikub, crocheting, and doing ceramics which she enjoyed giving away. She loved her special moments with her granddaughters; watching them jump on her mini trampoline, playing games, and being silly together.
Later in life, Lois and Del retired in Oakhurst, CA where they enjoyed the clean mountain air and friendly people. Three years after Del passed away in 1997, Lois moved to Simi Valley, CA where she participated in senior apartment living. In 2009, Lois moved into a board and care home with Lita and John, the most wonderful caregivers!
After being apart for more than 19 years, Lois and Del are together again.
They are survived by two daughters, Sharon Detlof and her husband Bill and Gail Westerlund and her husband Richard. They have 4 granddaughters, Jennifer Nickerson, Diana Conley, Rachel Keagy, and Laura Lang. They also have 11 great-grandchildren; Alexis, Alea, Alana, Brayden, Kayla, Hilan, Noah, Jacob, Lucas, Avery, and Breana. Lois also has three loving nieces, Pamela Timoshenko, Cheryle Gale, and Terese Hair, as well as a third chosen daughter, Leslie Courant.
Lois had a wonderful spirit and was always so kind and loving. She will be missed.
