Obituary of Nanci Jane Alonzo-Real
Please share a memory of Nanci to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nanci Alonzo Real passed away peacefully Thursday February 29, 2024 in Piru, CA. She was 84 years old. She is survived by her Husband Hector Real and five of her six children, sons Bobby, Kelly, Chris, Fred and daughter Lori. She was a beloved Grandmother to 14 children and proud Great Grandmother to 3 new baby girls.
Born in Illinois in 1939 Nanci moved to California at a young age with her parents Fred and Irene Somsag and 4 siblings where she lived in the San Fernando Valley most her life. Nanci was an artist, painter, writer, and avid reader. She would later return to college to pursue her interest in political science and history where she earned her degree at age 40. A lover of music and dancing, she was always the life of the party. She would foster many animals and children in her lifetime and was an advocate for her dear friends and loved ones in the LGBTQ community.
Spontaneously, Nanci and Hector would love to take “road trips” up the California Coastline or to casinos in the desert. Caught up in conversation and laughter they would sometimes miss their exit and end up in unknown destinations.
Nanci gave her all to whom she came in contact with, judging no one and always helping the less fortunate. Her graciousness, laughter and love will be missed deeply, but never to be forgotten by many who knew and loved her.
