Obituary of Emma Jacqueline Gordon

A celebration of life for Emma Jacqueline Gordon will be held Saturday January 21, 2023 at 1:00pm.

Emma was a wonderful daughter and sister. She spent her life in the family home in Northridge California.  She was a beloved special education teacher, animal lover and rescuer.

She cared for her “kiddos” as if they were her own children.  Many parents of her students have reached out and expressed what a wonderful a teacher she was and how she went above and beyond for each of her students. She would often reach out to the parents at the end of the school day to let them know what kind of day their child had. She brought her positive energy everyday to her classroom.  Being “Fun Sized” and energetic she was often mistaken for one of her students.

Emma graduated from Cal State Northridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Studies and went on to get her Masters Degree in Special Education. Emma loved her job and knew that nurturing children was her calling, and she dedicated her life to it.

Emma had a special place in her heart for dogs, even bringing home two litters of puppies, nursing them and finding each of them a new home. She loved dogs so much, she even had paw print tattoos of each of her own dogs. Her passion and generosity overflowed into all her relationships. She was the most loyal friend, she was so kind, caring and empathetic and spread joy to everyone she met.

Emma had a way of lighting up a room when she entered; people were drawn to her.  Nothing seemed to phase her.  No matter what the situation, she always had a positive attitude.

In lieu of flowers, Emma’s family is asking that donations be made in Emma’s honor to www.Autismspeaks.org  or www.dogswithoutborders.org.

The celebration of life will be held Saturday January 21, 2023 at Rose Family Funeral Home, 4444 Cochran Street, Simi Valley, CA 93063.
