Willie and I were best buddies when we lived in the same apartment building on Newcastle Ave and attended Nestle Ave Elementary in the early 70's. We were even on the same Balboa Park AYSO soccer team the Thunderbolts. Willie was by far the best player on our team. I mainly remember his sense of humor, kindness and honesty. I lost touch with Willie many many years ago after my family moved to Pennsylvania in 1974. I was hoping to reconnect with him, only to find his obituary.
