Obituary of Larry Russell Tredway
Larry Russell Tredway, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away on May 13, 2020, at the age of 80, surrounded by family at his home in Westlake Village, California.
Larry was born on May 7, 1940, in Evansville, Indiana, to Marianna and Russell Tredway. After high school, he attended Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, served in the Air Force, and subsequently graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in mathematics. After briefly teaching math at an inner-city Detroit school, he began a long, successful career in database administration and management.
Larry was passionate about mountain biking, hiking, and playing bridge. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church in Miami. He always had a book in hand and made time for anyone in need. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed scouring the town for "hot young dude" discounts, also known as senior discounts.
With his unique sense of humor, generosity, and kindness, Larry was deeply loved, and he blessed all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Janice, his brother, Roger, three children, Katherine, Deborah, and Cheryl, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Interment will be at the Los Angeles National Cemetery in Westwood, California. Covid virus restrictions preclude any gathering.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara, 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village CA 91361.
